Recognizing the Lords Hand...

Straight from my journal…

“This week has been a rather difficult one. Irelyn has had a bad virus that has caused her to have painful sores in her mouth and throat. She hasn't eaten or slept well this whole week. I am exhausted and quick to anger. I feel overwhelmed with everything I need to catch up on, but I thought I need to stop and recognize the Lords hand in this past week. Things started getting really bad Wed, after 3 nights with little sleep. Luckily I have great friends that really helped out. I dont think they even realize how the little bits of service make my day. Wednesday Valarie picked the girls up from preschool and took them to her house to play, which allowed me to do my visiting teaching. I could have gotten out of going VT, but I needed that time with my friends very much. Then Thursday Sheridan picked up the older girls and took them to the park day, which gave me time with a friend that stopped by. She needed to chat and I was glad to have a quiet house to share that time with her. (The babies were sleeping) Then Friday the girls were out of school, so I expected to see them when I woke up in the morning, but that wasnt the case. Jake said Bethany was in the area and picked up the girls for a play date with Jack. She had them all morning. So nice! Then in the afternoon Grandpa came and picked up the big girls to go sleep at my in-laws. Poor Ashelyn was getting left out a lot, but we will make it up to her soon. Shes been asking to go to Disneyland everyday, so we will be taking her this week.

I guess this journal entry is for me to recognize how the Lord knows my struggles and sends loving friends to help me when things get too hard. I am 100% convinced I didnt end up in this wonderful area by chance. Heavenly Father knew I needed this special network of friends to help me along.

I couldnt close this entry with out mentioning my fantastic husband. He has helped in so many ways. He sleeps with the baby on the couch so I can get real sleep a few hours a night. He gets the girls ready and takes them to school everyday, because that is usually when Im getting my first sleep cycle completed for the night. He also often works from home so I can accomplish some personal hygiene routines aka-a shower, brushing teeth, etc! He sometimes comes home to no dinner ready and will cook up a Jakes special for us girls. He truly is AMAZING! He also closed two loans this past week!! I mean come on..now hes just making me look bad!

Counting my blessings is sometimes difficult for me with four little girls distracting my every thought, but I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me. I know that he wouldn't give more than I could handle and blesses me accordingly.”

I hope that I'll get as lucky as you with great friends in my new area! And we all know how great Jake is! Lewis doesn't like hearing about everything Jake does though because he says that it makes him look bad!

What's wrong with Irelyn? Is she okay now? Poor baby! I hope she's okay or getting better!

Thats so awesome that you have so much help! And can recognize that. I think husbands don't understand how much little things help us overwhelmed mothers. Good job Jake! And I hope your little one feels better soon!
