Mud Run 2010
Jake and I got tickets for the Mud Run about 6 weeks before the race. So we started training and got to work preparing for the race. We decided to race it together by staying together. We ended up having a blast and actually doing really well. Out of 5700 racers we came in 941st and earned a time of 1:24!! We couldn't be happier! It was a tough race with mud obstacles that were hard, but so fun. The hardest part was the mile after mile of up hill running. I loved the mud crawl , the swim across the lake and slippery hill. I cant wait to do it next year!
My secret to my time was cutting the crowd (thanks Rachel) to get to the front of the pack before the race started then taking off as soon as the race started. This put us to the front of the pack. Perfect strategy for me because I ran with a tough bunch, which kept me going. Also, Jake was a huge part of why I did so well he was very encouraging and ran very well. He should have finished much sooner, but he stayed with me through all the mud madness. Loved it!
Here we are after all wet and muddy! Oh and TIRED and SORE!!!
We did it!!
Yep, that’s my sock!
Jakes shoelaces were so muddy it took him 15 minutes just to get the knots out.
Go Number 2402!
Yes, I took and shower outdoors with thousands of people. I was seriously dirty, but it was SO worth it!
Looks like tons of fun! Maybe we'll come do it with you guys another year. lol thanks for letting us stay at your house it was so fun, and we really appreciate it.
Nice!! I have a hard time running for 1 minute and 24 seconds... Plus, you look awesome after running for so long! The mud thing sounds fun though, we played mud volleyball at unlv, and it was a blast!
P.S. Are you guys still planning on coming here?? Ever since I mentioned something about it to Cohen, he keeps bringing it up almost daily!
