Leo Carrillo Camping

We were so excited to find a reservation for Leo Carrillo opened up for last week. It was only for one night, but we jumped on it. I used to camp there all the time, so I was excited to take the girls there. This was our first time camping with all four girls.

It started off with a lot of negative energy. First off, we were sitting in traffic and Jake went to check his missed calls and turn off his phone and and cop 2 lanes away looked in the car and saw him touching his phone and pulled us over. He got a darn ticket-ugh!!! But it gets better..we then get to the camp site and my sister in law Shauna starts calling my phone over and over again, so I check my messages and find out Jakes boss has been calling my in- laws looking for Jake. Apparently Jakes boss FORGOT Jake was taking the time off and found it necessary to call a search party because he didn't show up for work. When Jake finally got a hold of his boss he said, “oh yeah! I forgot you said you were out of town!” Ugh, Ugh, ugh! So now Jakes family thinks Jake is some kind of slacker that doesn't inform his employer of his vacation time. Not to mention it scared his mom to death not knowing where we were. I was not happy!

But after that we set up camp and headed to beach to let the vacation relaxation begin. My sister and her family and Uncle Tony joined us for the day and part of the night.

IMG_0940Ashelyn finally went in the water!! She all of sudden showed interest in it, so I took her in and she loved it!

Wait, is that a freshly cooked HOMEMADE cookie?? Yes it is! We bought a camping stove/oven at Costco and we had fun baking while camping. In the morning we had hot cinnamon rolls. Yum!

Ashelyn not happy about climbing in the tree. Stop laughing Uncle Tony!

Around the campfire Jake told the Larsen bear story, and the kids played with flashlights and glow sticks. Of course we did the whole smore thing. The kids enjoyed every second of it! NO BEAR!

Now the whole family joins for a camping picture. After the babies went to sleep we had hot chocolate with the big girls and played memory. Maddie+chocloate=winner of Memory!

The kids LOVED camping and were sad it was for only one night. Lucky for us we go camping again next week!

Looks like a lot of fun. We are going camping this weekend and Logan is so excited. Unfortunately we don't have the beach, instead we take the four-wheeler. I'm a little concerned about it being so hot since I'm 8 months prego, but it will be an adventure either way. Yea for camping with kids it's always fun.

Wow! What a terrible start! SOMEONE was trying to ruin that for you and keep you from having a fun time together as a family!
It looks like a fun place to go camping!
