Halloween always seems to be a two week process. This year it started with a trip to the Great Park for free pumpkins, games, and fun.
The girls got to go through a hay maze, play games, go to a petting zoo, get their faces painted, and ride a merry go round.
This was Ashelyns first time wanting her face painted. Usually she gets her hand done.
When Jake and the big girls were waiting in line for the merry go round I took Irelyn for a walk. She found the speaker that was blaring music. She was excited to get her groove on.
Here she is dancing…
She is such a boop!!!
The best part of the day was the 4 free big pumpkins we got. I even got a white pumpkin!
Up next in our Halloween adventure week was school celebrations.
Brookelyn wanted to be a Ballerina cat (her costume from when she was two). She had a blast with her preschool friends and was excited to show Joey her costume.
I am so blessed to have a husband that can work from home, so I can volunteer often in Maddies class. I was excited to experience another magical day in the Sunflower Kindy class. They started out carving pumpkins.
Heres Maddie with her freinds. Anne and Leara. They are playing with Unity, Pipin and Scout.
They also played games Waldorf style. The kids imagine crossing a river and would have to balance a ladle with a stuffed pumpkin in it. Maddie did it perfect both times. I was rather surprised since most of the kids couldn't complete the whole task. Go Mad!
After they carved pumpkins and did creative play they went outside. While outside us moms got the classroom ready. We lit all the Jack O Laterns, and set the table. When kids came in it was dark and all you saw was the candle lit table and lit pumpkins. It was very pretty. They ate their vegetable stone soup and enjoyed the their usual songs and stories.
Before the kids came in we helped them into their costumes.
Maddie with Justine and Beau. She LOVES Beau. She likes to tell me that he is handsome.
Maddie was a flower fairy.
Kaden, Tay, and Bryson. Friends from church and school!
Maddie getting a huggie’s. All the kindy kids like to go up to each other and say “huggie” and then go in for a squeeze. Its darling. Its such a sweet environment for these little ones. I cant say enough about Waldorf!
We love Journey School!!!!
Back at home…
We carved pumpkins early because we thought we were going to Vegas to visit the Mirandas, but unfortunately Brookelyn and Irelyn got ear aches just days before, so we had to cancel our trip):
We decided to let Irelyn use washable markers while we carved and this is what happen!
When were all done Brookelyn and Ashelyn picked all the seeds out of the goo so we could bake them. Ashelyn loved getting dirty.
Carving pumpkins is my personal favorite as far as traditions go. Im sad we didnt get pics of the finish products. Ashelyn had a Mickey pumpkin, Maddie had a silly face, Brookee, a scary face and Dad Jasmine from Aladdin. So fun!
Stayed tuned, Halloween part two coming soon.

We're sad we didn't get to spend it with you though! And carving pumpkins is one of my favorite traditions too! I still remember carving them with you guys at your house by Desert Bloom park before our first Halloween together! Fun times!
Too much cuteness and fun. I miss you all so much! Can't wait to see the rest!
