In the beginning of last year my uncle Russ was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. After lots of chemo, and a wicked surgery he is officially CANCER FREE! So of course we had to throw him a surprise party!
It all started with the family arriving and Russ leaving to go to the airport to pick up Brett and Zac.
Time to set up!

Isnt the cake great. Heather outdid herself this time!
Now time for the guests.
They just kept coming and coming and yep all 20 of us were there to shout surprise to a very surprised Russ.
A classic surprised face!
We were all very happy to be together. Can you feel the love?
We the ate and started our letters we all wrote to Russ. ALL of them were very heartfelt and spoken with truth and love. We are a random bunch, but we sure love one another.
To our surprise Uncle Russ can not only fight cancer successfully, but he can also turn into Santa!
Christmas for the kids!
Waiting for the big guy to arrive.
My cute nephew.
Here come Santa Claus..
The kids were pretty happy.
Maddie is totally checkin Santa out. She knew it was Uncle Russ.
Jake got Christian this awesome skateboard, and all the kids got pillow pets. Jake loved getting a boy present. He was excited to give it to him. Next we did a lot of hanging out and chatting, then went to Candy cane lane. Luckily the rain let up so we could enjoy the lights, but no pictures. I forgot my camera.
And to conclude the awesome day. We took our traditional family shots.
The Larsen’s
The Van Hyning’s
The Blacks, oh I mean the OG Rodriguez Family
The OG Quisenberry’s
Add some in-laws and you have a family of 6!
The Gastelum’s
And the Lyman sisters!
We had a really great day filled with lots of cherished memories. I love my family and congrats to the newest cancer survivor Muscle Russell!
