St. Patricks Day

Today has been a day of the unexpected. I woke up to breakfast in bed, which I wasnt expecting because Jake had to go to work early today. Cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs and sliced strawberries. He does do this often (like 3 times a week) but today it was unexpected. Then I got up showered-another unexpected, but Ashelyn slept in until 10am and the big girls were watching cartoons so I took advantage of that and got myself ready. Then I checked my email and to my great surprise I got an email from my favorite aunt, more like a second mom, telling me my recently laid off computer engineer uncle got rehired by the employer that laid him off two months ago! What a relief. I am really happy for them. Being employed in this economy is truly something to be grateful for. Then...after talking to Lindsay to finalize Disneyland plans for tomorrow I got a call from my sister who said that she was coming to Disneyland tomorrow with my mom, nephew and her boyfriend for my moms b-day. I couldnt understand because I thought she had to work, but turns out she got laid off today from her job at home depot. What?!? One family member regains a job and the other one loses theirs.
The next unexpected came when I left to go to a little St. Patricks Day party with some girls from my ward. I wrote down the directions to the unfamiliar park in preparation, but decided as I was leaving that I didnt need them because my pregnant mind had already stored them in my solid memory. A left on Jerionmo and left on Cherry. Easy, right? We get to a beautiful park on Cherry street, parked and started playing, but to my surprise nobody was there yet. As I waited I made some friends with some other moms at the park. I was contemplating by 12:15 that I could possibly have the wrong park, but then I noticed the wood chipped playground that my friends said the park would have, so I continued to wait assuring myself I had the right park. In the mean time the girls made some cute friends and I chatted with the moms. Well by 12:40 (the party was to start at 12) I decided something definitely wasnt right, but we had to leave soon for Maddies speech class and I wasnt going to go searching for another park since this area has parks on practically every corner. We continued to make new friends and share the treats we had made for the party. Green Rice Krispy Treats! All our new friends thought this was such a nice thing to do-share our St.Pattys Day treats with them. Maddie went around with the plate and offered all the strangers at the park a treat. She really is a sweet little girl. She loves sharing and pleasing people with her homemade treats. As one o'clock arrived we said goodbye to our new found friends and headed to speech. Everything there was expected. When I got home I examined the directions I had written down and found that it was a left on Trabuco and then a left on cherry. Oh well! We still had a great time. Heres the girls with the Green Treats their daddy made the night before for their party/park day. He put a lot of food coloring in them and the treats left all of our teeth green.

Heres sweet Ashelyn resting after an adventurous day with her crazy mom and sisters. She even met a new friend. A little 16 month old named Jill. Ashelyn was so much taller then her and walked better then her. I dont really recognize these things as much with the 3rd child, but Jills mom pointed out the differences to me. "Shes tall and walks really well, how old is she?" Jills mommy said. "14 months", I said. "Really?" She says. I think the no hair thing throws people off.
Well Im off to get dinner started and get my house in order. I have enrichment night tonight. This should be fun, explaining to my friends why I didnt make the party. Another fun day being a pregnant mommy of three amazing girls and a wife to an awesome hubby.

Great story, sorry I never got back to you about the spring break thing, it's been one of those crazy weeks. Not that it matters now the high schools and stuff don't have Spring break until April. Hope you have fun at Disneyland. Talk to you later.
