Swimming Girls

I just read a friends blog about swim lessons last week and remembered that I needed to blog about our swim lessons.
Maddie is Swimming!! Yah!!
It all started last Monday. Maddie was not happy about not taking her life vest to swim lessons and gave my friend Bethany (her swim teacher) a hard time about putting her head under water, because Maddie has NEVER put her head under water on her own, but by Wednesday she was swimming all by herself! She is doing great and I am so relieved she ended up LOVING swim lessons.
Thanks to Bethany Maddie is a confident little swimmer. She even is able to dive for rings in the shallow end!

Heres Maddie hanging out with Hayden in the hot tub after her lesson. We had lots of fun taking lessons back-to-back with some of our friends in the ward.

Brookelyn tries REALLY hard to swim!
Poor Brookee has always been SO afraid of leaving the steps unless she is monkey crawling around the edges. She has mini panic attacks if you hold her in the deep parts of the pool, so Bethany had her work cut out for her. Brookelyn cried the first couple days, but by the end of the week she was under water and making it to the wall on her own. Yah for my 3-year-old Brookelyn!

She didn't quite get the 1-2-3 pull arm movement down, but she knows how to reach for the wall. Most importantly she is extremely proud of being able to dunk her head in the water.

So cool, steps we all went through, just different than when your dad throws you in the deep end and says "swim!"
