Whenever we go somewhere alone she talks my head off, and tonight was no exception. As we stood in line at the returns desk (15 minute line to return moldy salad-yes I returned moldy salad-it was moldy the day after I bought it!) she started talking about the costco worker at the door and how she was smiling at her, and about how she wanted to go get us a cart, and so on and so on. But then I noticed her staring at the man in front of us. This man was a very dark skinned man from India. I could tell she was trying to figure him out. Then all of sudden her silence was broken when in a loud enough voice she said, "Mom, that boy looks weird." Then dumb mom says, "what?" and she said, "THAT BOY LOOKS WEIRD MOM". Uh oh! I knew that his skin was what she thought was weird. I was pretty shocked/embarrassed.
I realize that I need to have a talk with my 3-year-old about all different people, but Costco was not the place for it, so I think Im going to plan a FHE lesson so all the girls can learn NOT TO EMBARRASS their mother in public! Just kidding, but I am hoping this will not happen again!

Too funny! She's so darn cute!
Oh no! Scary when kids do that to you in public (unintentionally of course, but still embarrasing!!) My 3 year old nephew goes around commenting on "Fat people" right now. And, me, being pregnant, is one of his targets!
It must be something with the 2nd child. Sawyer is in need of some one on one time too.
We had to have this talk a few weeks ago when we were at Costco and one of the men had lost part of there arm. Totally embarassing.
She sure is a cutie!!
Did I ever tell you about the time Cohen saw the older man with an eye patch? Hopefully most people understand the innocence of kids and find some humor in their comments. You really can learn quite a bit with that one on one time!
I agree with Lindsay about the innocence of kids. My last one-on-one time with Lindsay was teaching her "what not to do" when she was learning how to drive. Great memories!
Angie, this is payback to what you did to me and Cindy at JC Penney when you were little!!!
Brookee is soooo cute! Well...ALL of your girls are cute!!!
Only the first of many I am afraid. Most people will chalk it up to "kids" but it is important to have these talks with the kids every once in a while!!
(I finally figured out this blogging thing!)
