Today started with family clean-up and then off to hike in the mountains. We had a great time hiking and Im sad I didnt bring my camera. The girls loved finding rocks, sticks, and looking for Mountain Lions. We were in Mountain Lion territory. There were signs everywhere warning us of their presence. We taught the girls what to do if they see one (stand tall, throw their rocks and sticks and roar). They thought this was funny, but they did get a little freaked out. When I would ask Ashelyn where the lions were she would "sleeping mom". Maddie found a really cool heart shaped rock and Jake picked cat tails for them. They brought the cat tails home and Jake helped them color them. Maddie is going to paint her rock tomorrow (her idea).
After hiking and lunch I headed out to the mall and Costco with Tracine, which was nice to have fun shopping girl time. I came home cooked dinner and then Jake headed out to a concert with Juan, Moses, and Ron. They saw a Pink Floyd cover band. I got the girls down to sleep and Tracine and Jenny came over and chatted for a few hours. I just read Jennys book about her sweet boy Russell who passed away in 2008 and absolutely LOVED it. What a amazing tribute to a beautiful little boy. I love that I feel after reading the book that I know Russell. Jenny is an amazing inspiration and can bring hope to any heart. I highly recommend Russells book!

Fun to see you at the mall! I have only read part of Jenny's book, but the part I read was amazing! Did you know she collects heart rocks too? Oh, I still want your recipes please.
Mountain lions? Wow! I don't think I'll ever go hiking with you.
sounds like fun.
